Lake Washington Fun!

July 6, 2009

What a great day, and I think this video sort of outlines how nice the weather was on Lake Union, and Lake Washington.

Maiden Voyage in Seattle

July 3, 2009

After working a few of the bugs out and almost running out of gas, we finally got underway in Seattle for Land Yo’s maiden voyage.  Under the bridges into Lake Union, then through the cut to Lake Washington and on to Carillon Point in Kirkland, WA.  Fun times for sure with the Pennington family.

What an incredible trip! There’s so much to say about the trip but if you watch the video, I think that would be time better spent. MyCobalt.net did a writeup of our trip, and you can get the Tortuga slideshow here. Enjoy

Fun was had by all at the Brakken cottage over the weekend.  Lots of waterskiing and wake surfing on Lake Sammamish.

Hurricane Gustav & Warning Flags

September 1, 2008

With Hurricane Gustav nearing the Gulf Coast, it reminded me that as boaters, we need to know our flags. While the hurricane signal flag is quite obvious, more subtle flags, such as the Small-craft advisory and gale warning, are not. Here are a few that you will, hopefully, recognize. I posted an article about the craft design category of the Cobalt 343 which shows that the 343 can withstand Gale force winds. Of course, I wouldn’t be caught out in those winds on my boat…

More Waterskiing with Bill and Amy

Mrs. B. is driving the boat this morning while I play photographer. I am using a proper camera for once, instead of the silly Blackberry. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Blackberry, but only for things like email and telephone calls. Mrs. B then made some kind of secret family recipe for broiled toast. What a breakfast, thanks Mrs. B!
